We going to do our best to get on a blogging routine so we can share lots of great stuff with our MOM friends.
It's been 4 months since my shoulder surgery. The whole process has been quite overwhelming but I must say I have learned so much about myself: my boundaries, my patience, demands on myself, expectations of others and how AWESOME us MOMS really are.
I never expected rehab to be a full-time job and having so many limitation for such a long period of time.
I needed the help of 4-5 people to do everything I do every day. My wonderful mama stayed with us at night and took great care of us all then my terrific nanny was here during the day.
The real work started when my nanny left for nursing school and it was all me. I had to get myself into a restricted routine with limitations and try to explain to a 2 year old why I couldn't pick her up. Through perseverance and a fabulous physical therapist who is now a great friend, I am making huge strides towards a full recovery.
During my down time, I read the Fifty Shades Trilogy in 10 days, became highly addicted to Pinterest, started planning my daughters 3rd birthday and created some new delicious recipes.
My biggest piece of advice from this ordeal is to protect your shoulders- we take so much of what we do for granted until something tragic prevents us from doing our day to day routine. If you have shoulder issues or any other body injury- keep it strong and put off surgery as the last resort or until your children are old enough to understand and help you with every day activities.
